If my child wears a size 5 in your clothes, should I get the 5T jacket or the children's XS?
XS, the 5t is just a five... Its only 1/2 an inch difference in size from toddler to regular... Good Luck!
Hi Courtney! Patagonia has their sizing as follows: 5T weight: 39-42lbs height: 44-46 inches. XS weight: 42-49lbs height: 44-46.5 inches. Happy Shopping!
when looking at this patagonia coat. the color says "red" but it really looks orange. which is it? thanks!
Hi Julie! The color is called "paintbrush red" but it definitely has some orange casting. The picture online is very true to how it looks in person.

Hi Julie! The Patagonia sizing has a 3T at weight: 32-35lbs, height: 36-39 inches. For a 4T they have: weight: 35-40 lbs and height 40-44 inches. It sounds like the 3T will fit perfectly now, but he he might need a 4T by the end of winter.

The description refers to this as a "jacket" and the name is a "sweater." Is this heavy enough for a winter coat or is it more of a transitional fall jacket?
Hi Kelly! Depending on where you live in the country, this could be a winter coat. Seeing that you're from Chicago, we imagine that this would be more of a transitional jacket. However, it's goose down filled and therefore it does provide a lot of insulation and warmth. It could work on a mild Chicago winter day, provided you added some extra layers underneath the coat.
The Blue appears on line as a deep teal shade. It came and was a brighter blue that did not go well with the other items I purchase wit the teal look. Guess one or the other will have to be returned.

Hello! The jackets fit true-to-size. The Patagonia sizing has 2T with weight 29-32 lbs, height 33-36in. The 3T with weight at 32-35lbs, height 36-39in. Happy Shopping!
