ABOUT THE PHOTO:
In the brickyards or Huachipa, a community north of Lima, even the youngest members of a family often help in the production of bricks, using a primitive method that involves long hours of manual labor in the hot sun. Founded in 1986 and supported by The Global Fund for Children since 2002, ADEVI works to eradicate child labor in Huachipa by reintegrating children into formal schools and providing preventative health education, Andean cultural awareness programs, life skills training, vocational training, and microenterprise programs. The organization serves more than 500 children every year.
