Our Values
Partnering with The Global Fund for Children
When we founded Tea "for little citizens of the world," we also started our journey of seeking a non-profit partner whose mission embodied the spirit of celebrating cultures around the world, particularly one who worked with little citizens.
When we discovered the website for The Global Fund for Children, we knew it was right. Their mission of advancing the dignity of children and youth around the world was born to meet a company born to explore the world. Moments after Leigh reached out to GFC, she heard back from Maya Ajmera, the founder. "We love Tea. We would love to talk about a partnership." We were incredibly moved that our little company had caught the eye of such a visionary venture philanthropist.
Since 1997, GFC has given more than $17 million in grants to 397 community-based organizations working in 75 countries around the world. We also love how they harness the power of global media to connect and introduce children to diversity and cultures around the world.
How do we support GFC?
We donate all proceeds from our Little Citizens line of clothing to GFC. We also sell a variety of GFC's children's books on our site, including "To Be an Artist." A few times a year, we give back 20% of all online sales during our GFC Days. We also helped fund their 2010 International Center of Photography fellowship. Learn more about the photography fellows and their wonderful work. We continue to look for new ways to support the Global Fund for Children. Coming soon, we'll be launching a new website feature where you can add a small donation to GFC with any order.
Every employee at Tea is touched by the work of The Global Fund for Children. To support GFC, please shop our Gifts that Give Back collection. We're proud and honored that we can share our support of The Global Fund for Children with you. Learn more about their work.
