I really like these shorts, but my boy's waist is 20 1/2" and his height is 42". I am just afraid the size 5 will fall off of him, but the height seems to be a size 5. We have not worn tea shorts or pants before. Any advice?

Do these shorts have functional drawstrings? My 4 year old's waist is 20 and he is 40 inches, so on a skinny side.

Hi Ulyana, The French Terry Cargo shorts have an elastic waistband with no drawstring/ adjustable waist. We might recommend shorts with adjustable waistbands like the Sharp Sharp Beach shorts.

Thank you. Just a suggestion, it is very good to have functional drawstrings on shorts like this and sweat pants for kids that are slimmer in the waste. Many other brands just have "decorative" ones and they are useless.
